![]() I've had the NewEra OTR also and they all are good intakes. I'm not going to be partial to either as I've had them both. It just depends on the look you want, I've been working with Mike from Rotofab on the Maggie coil covers and did the prototype for those also. Spectre did not have a box at the time I did the proto type so I don't know about the intake box, I do have a spectre on my avalanche and it pulls some serious air. Mike from rotofab can also build you a polished intake if thats what your looking for. I am partial to the polished look and they both provide a very nice product. The polished aluminum for the spectre is very nice and they are both the same size. ![]() The stock filter for the rotofab is bigger for sure and probably pulls more air. The 3 inch Y shaped intake tube is triple chrome plated with an ABS resin. Ray is correct about how the intake works, you won't see any difference in the tube. The Spectre chrome intake tube combines two 3 inch intake tubes into one 3 inch tube. I now have the rotofab air box and the maggie intake tube with a spectre 11" filter and I had to modify the box to make it work. Spectre Performance 97990 4' 90 Aluminum Elbow with 7' Leg. See post #237 in my build thread on the Vintage Mustang Forum Spectre Performance 9781 Black 4' 90 Degree Boot. I choose the 9617 filter to maximize filter area and fill the space between the end of the intake tube and the inner fender apron. Spectre Performance Air Intake Tubes 97800 Air Intake Tube, 75 degree Elbow Style, Aluminum, Polished, 4 in. The MAF sleeve adapts the 4" filter intake to the 3.5 inch intake tube. I opted for a black HPR9617K air filter with a SPR-990003 MAF sleeve. A shorter 3.5 inch coupler was selected at the throttle body. ![]() The intake tube has all the connections for the Coyote vacuum line and crankcase ventilation. I went that route as I do not have anyone local that I would trust to do good aluminum tig welding. About the only thing I was able to use was the intake tube. The intake tube is from a kit designed for the Mustang GT. ![]() A note, Spectre Performance is a K&N company. As usual my solution was not a cheap way to go, but got what I wanted. I worked with Guy Smith at Spectre Performance to put together components that would fit and look the way I wanted to.
