The knights on horseback face their competition in games of skill. The pace quickens as the Tournament of Games begins. The King of Arms leads a spectacular display of equestrian skills and pageantry. Each section of the dining area is given their own night and a color to fly as the tournament unfolds below on the field. The characters are introduced and audience members assigned to their knight, amidst the serving of the dinner. From there, guests are escorted into a dining area with rows and rows of tables that surround a large central jousting field. Once guests have settled in to the great hall, the show begins with a welcome from the King and Queen in the Medieval Times Illinois castle's entry room. Guests can feast on the art displays as well as buy exquisite armory, souvenirs, wardrobe items and much more - all dating back to the 11th century. Before the start of the show, after the arrival of the guests, the attendees are provided time to mingle and to absorb the ambiance of the 11th century arena. Anyone who must use the restroom frequently (little kids, pregnant women) should sit near an aisle, because just like at a football stadium, you'll have to crawl over a whole bunch of other people to get into and out of your row. The little tables are so designed to resemble the 11th century narrow, without padding, furniture. However, one latent problem with eating at Medieval Times is the size and comfort of the seating arrangements. Prices at the various Medieval Times locations vary, but at Medieval Times Buena Park guests can expect to pay $45.95 for adults and $31.95 children under 12. The menu selection was chosen to have the widest appeal to US taste buds. The meal served at Medieval Times is a typical American-style dinner including bread, soup, chicken and/or meat, potato and dessert accompanied by beverages with one free refill.
